About the event
The SPOT is pleased to sponsor two (2) non-violent intervention training courses in the month of April for our community partners and recurring volunteers in the Meridian and East MS area. Training is open to any SPOT partners and volunteers who wish to learn strategies for de-escalating a hostile or aggressive behavioral situation.
Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Training prepares you and your staff to prevent and de-escalate medium to high-risk behavior using both restrictive and non-restrictive methods. Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training provides the skills to safely disengage and intervene in crisis situations by utilizing:
A common de-escalation communication framework
Proactive verbal de-escalation strategies
Safety intervention and disengagement skills
